Summary
The Director of Operations oversees resort services at this 68 room luxury resort including the Rooms Division, Spa, and F&B Division. This includes the Front Office, Guest Services and Experience teams, Housekeeping team, Spa team, and Outlets and Banquet teams. Ensures Forbes luxury 5 star service levels throughout the guest experience. Maximizes productivity by supporting their team’s ability to schedule to forecast, and has familiarity with P&L and managing spend in a seasonal resort environment. Ability to create, or support creation of exclusive experiences in Napa Valley. Analyzes rate variances, monitors credit reports & maintains close observation of daily house counts. Coordinates major projects such as room renovations, capital expenditures, & equipment changes. Conducts weekly Rooms Divisions meetings, including monthly financial review with subordinate managers & senior hotel directors. Hires, manages & trains their department leaders & colleagues with care and support. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail and previous luxury hotel or resort experience.
Duties include:
- Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Rooms operations in the front and back of the house
- Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans
- Experience supervising all Rooms Departments
- Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property
- Experience developing standards and operating procedures.
- Participate in MOD program
- Have experience with special projects
- Coach employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

The annual salary range for this this position is $97,800.00 and $151,400.00. This is the pay range for this position at Alila Napa Valley reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including luxury leadership experience and education and training levels.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- 5 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms experience (typically with Hyatt)
- Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior role in a hotel rooms area in a luxury resort or hotel
- Proven leadership skills
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
