Auburn Homes & Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Human Resources professional to develop and execute human resource strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
The HR Director we are seeking will have experience managing all strategic elements of the Human Resource Department in a manner that is innovative, well-thought out and legally compliant.
As Auburn's Human Resources Director, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the senior leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The HR Director will plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and execute all services within the HR department.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection and onboarding strategy for the company while ensuring the best talent is brought to Auburn Homes and Services.
- Develop and ensure job descriptions are accurate, legally compliant and meet the organization's needs.
- Assist in determining departmental staffing, evaluate employee performances, and make recommendations to the CEO concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, and transfers as needed.
- Verify that appropriate documentation concerning the employee’s right to work in this country is in accordance with current laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning such matters and file appropriate documentation of such review in the employee’s personnel record within the specified period.
- Maintain Affirmative Action Plans and Programs as necessary or required.
- Consult with department directors concerning the staffing of their departments, eliminating and correcting any problem areas, and implementing services for improvement.
- Create and maintain an adequate personnel record filing system that meets the needs of the facility and complies with current employment practices.
- Prepare, recommend, and maintain records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data.
- Interpret department policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, etc., as necessary or required.
- Review fringe benefits programs, to include pensions, annuities, health and life insurance programs, etc., as directed, and make recommendations to the CEO.
- Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman’s and unemployment compensation, etc.
- Monitor Worker Compensation claims and coordinate work between employees and the insurance carrier.
- Ensure hiring and discharge procedures comply with established policies and procedures.
- Participate in and support activities of facility committees.
- Follow the mission, policies and procedures and safety rules of the facility.
- Understand and support the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as our facility’s established policies governing the release of information.
- Will have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college and or university in business, human resources or an equivalent field.
- Prefer minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
- Have a good working knowledge of HRIS administration
- Possess a thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in nursing care facilities.
- Be a proficient communicator orally and in writing.
- Will possess the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information and make recommendations to the CEO.
- Will be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Will have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Will have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle personnel based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
- Knowledgeable of administrative practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to employment law, wage and hour rules, labor relations, OSHA, Privacy Act, etc.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the HR programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the facility.
- Will have the ability to act as liaison between personnel and management.
- Will possess the ability to establish, implement and maintain effective human resource programs.
