This is a remote position in Malaysia.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a skilled Oracle/PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's Oracle/PostgreSQL database systems, including database migrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of database architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle/PostgreSQL database systems.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning strategies, and optimize database operations.
- Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Create and maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
- Maintain database documentation, including procedures and policies.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical production systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration.
- Proficient in database migration, upgrade, and troubleshooting activities.
- Strong understanding of database architecture and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of database security and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications:
- Experience with other database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, Azure PaaS and IaaS technology.
- Experience with cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS or Microsoft Azure.
- Certification in Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration.
