This is a remote position in Malaysia.


Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a skilled Oracle/PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's Oracle/PostgreSQL database systems, including database migrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of database architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle/PostgreSQL database systems.
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning strategies, and optimize database operations.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
  • Maintain database documentation, including procedures and policies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical production systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Proficient in database migration, upgrade, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of database security and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Experience with other database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, Azure PaaS and IaaS technology.
  • Experience with cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Certification in Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration.
