About This Role
The Design Revision Specialist will undertake administrative-operational tasks ensuring the design drafters have adequate support to work efficiently when changes to the designs are needed. These tasks will include contacting all internal and external department leaders to create a streamlined process. They will be self-motivated, trustworthy and self-managed. The Design Revision Specialist ensures the smooth running of the Design & Engineering department by tracking and compiling data for quality-process and driving sustainable improvements.
Overall Responsibilities
- Revises, categorizes and documents changes requested to the design
- Collaborates with managers to determine expectations to meet daily revisions KPIs
- Tracks, documents and delivers feedback to leadership for process improvement
- Builds valuable relationships with local jurisdictions' plan checkers, inspectors and others for a better understanding of design needs
- Communicates as the main point of contact to the corresponding authorities that hold jurisdictions when clarifications are needed relating to codes, policies, procedures or any other applicable resolution needed
- Supports and participates in the formal reporting process
- Creates and updates SOP for internal process flow
- Participate in biweekly and quarterly quality assurance, project evaluation, and performance assessment for department success
Qualifications
- Associates degree and/or 1-3 years of solar design experience
- Knowledge and correct interpretation of International, National and local codes applicable to Solar Residential Photovoltaic Constructions
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Motivated team player with a strong work ethic who listens, learns, and actively communicates to the highest degree
- Detail-oriented and able to perform accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently
- Reliable and good attitude
- Basic knowledge of Electrical and experience with residential small-scale PV system designs
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
