Sunderland City Council is looking for a keen and highly-motivated team member to join its Pest Control Team and deliver the Council’s Pest Control Service.
To apply for this role you will need to have undertaken formal training on the use of rodenticides and insecticides or a demonstrate commitment to complete the RSPH level 2 qualification within 12 months, if not already held.
You will be required to respond to requests for service including, but not limited to, property inspection, administration of rodenticides, insecticides and pesticides, investigation and resolution of pest control problems, provision of pest control advice and assistance in any necessary enforcement work in addition to dog warden duties. Applicants should therefore hold a good knowledge of pest treatment legislation and associated health and safety requirements.
The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and effectively with the public, businesses and members of other organisations in addition to a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
Due to the requirement to drive a Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle.
This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
