Your Role
We are a start-up that is scaling fast. Therefore, we are not hiring for someone to do repetitive work. We are hiring resilient and multi-faceted problem solvers. To thrive at VI, you will need a ‘growth mindset’ where you embrace the challenge of figuring something out.
The open role has the potential to be a Senior Specialist or Manager level position candidates ranging from 4-8+ years of experience are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for adaptability, autonomy and alignment with our values, and we’ll adjust the role to suit the experience of the candidate with the best fit. This will start as a generalist position who is responsible for tasks across a wide variety of finance operations. As the team grows, you will specialize in certain areas of the department, develop expertise, and increase your ownership of your tasks.
Your Impact
What will the Finance and Accounting Manager be trying to solve?
Execute weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting tasks for all entities in our corporate structure (VN, UK, US) - we work on a cadency so that nothing slips through the cracks.
Produce consolidated financial statements each month.
Oversee AP and AR tasks on a scheduled basis as the company grows.
Keep our accounting software up to date - we need to be able to report to our investors and our executive team on short notice.
Ensuring tax, sales and labor compliance through regular compliance reviews and navigating barriers as we expand into new markets.
Assist with the Tax declaration and finalization.
Support our HR team in the smooth operation of our Representative Office and LLC in Ho Chi Minh City.
Collect and gather information to successfully execute monthly multi-entity payroll and support HR processes for our global team (we are in over 20 countries!).
Support the FP&A team by helping us gain insight from the data that your team is producing.
Provide support to auxiliary schedules for auditing purposes as per assigned work.
Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the CFO.
This position will not manage a team at first, but it has the potential to become a leadership role.
How big is the Finance team?
The team is led by the CFO and consists of a Finance and Accounting Specialist supporting all financial operations and an FP&A Specialist who works with the CFO together on strategic initiatives, fundraising and investor relations.
What does success look like in 12 months’ time?
The successful Manager will be a multi-faceted support unit for the CFO during a period of high growth. The Manager is tasked with scaling our finance operations and you will adapt to changes with ease.
The successful Specialist will learn all department functions and gradually specialize in those best suited to your skills and interests.

- At least 4 years of relevant career experience
Based in Ho Chi Minh City
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese and English (we do not need proof of IELTS test, but if you did it would be 7.0+)
Accounting skills: a qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, etc) is not required but we are looking for some familiarity with IFRS (or UK or US GAAP) and with VAS.
High level of responsibility, accuracy and efficiency.
Intermediate Excel and Google Sheets skills
Familiarity with Xero is a plus
