We are looking for a Senior Manager - IoT Infrastructure & Security responsible for the design and delivery of technology infrastructure and security used to enable IoT connectivity products and services. The role brings experience, knowledge, and future vision for transforming the IoT Infrastructure & Security function including its strategy, operating model, technology, and workforce. The role holder is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with internally and externally sourced infrastructure and security capabilities. The role will lead the team defining and implementing transformational initiatives where the target state includes Agile, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and cloud adoption at scale. As a key member of the senior IoT leadership team in technology, this role contributes to the development and execution of the wider technology strategy for IoT connectivity and is responsible for ensuring the infrastructure and security strategy and operations is fully aligned, positioning it to deliver compelling business value.

.Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Leadership & Strategy: Sets the mission, vision, and strategy of the infrastructure & security function to maximise the success of business and technology initiatives for IoT. Introduces innovative, differentiating infrastructure and security capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and enhance employee productivity. Works with the IoT senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritise resources, including budget. Works with key stakeholders to measure and prioritise technical debt remediation. Builds successful stakeholder relationships with other IoT and business key stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of infrastructure and security services to meet those needs.
- Talent Management: Develops workforce strategy to meet the organisation’s current and future infrastructure and security engineering needs through developing, hiring, and/or sourcing talent. Manages resource allocation across teams to maximise business impact of resources and ensure each team has the skills and capabilities needed to achieve its objectives. Manages engineering talent, playing a key role in performance management and compensation processes, role and competency definition, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Partner with HR to create learning and development opportunities aligned to the organisation’s skill and capability needs, and to provide rewarding career paths for engineering staff. Recruit and hire talent to address new needs and skill gaps.
- Infrastructure & Security Engineering: Provide experts knowledge on cloud infrastructure and platforms, to ensure our organisation achieves its goals for cloud adoption. This involves translating cloud strategy and architecture into efficient, resilient, and secure technical implementations. Supports architects working on new cloud solutions including analysing requirements, supporting technical architecture activities, prototyping, design and development of infrastructure artifacts, testing, implementation, and the preparation for ongoing support. Designs, builds, delivers, maintains, and improves infrastructure solutions as well as continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and collaborative ways of working (e.g., DevOps). Participates in change and release management processes, carrying out complex provisioning and configuration tasks manually, where needed. Provides subject matter expertise for all approved IaaS and PaaS services, respond promptly to escalated incidents and requests, and build reusable artifacts ready for deployment to cloud environments.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Experience with cloud provider services (AWS), DevOps-tooling such as CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, Github) and infrastructure-as-code approaches
- Previous background in Orchestration tools, software development frameworks/languages, container management, virtualisation platforms, operating systems, database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB) and identity & access management systems.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
