Communications Support Person [Pakistan]


 

This individual will provide communications related support to the office to formulate and disseminate related information. The selected individual will provide support to help WHO in line with communications strategy to promote WHO’s work in Pakistan. Under the direct supervision of WCO Communication Officer, the incumbent will perform below tasks:

1. To enhance WHO Pakistan’s visibility, support the office in the management of social media platforms such as Facebook/Workplace, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

2. In consultation with supervisor, identify and prioritize topics within the work of WHO that should be promoted through media communications; initiate, develop and actively contribute to production of newsletters and communications materials using the most effective methods (audio-visual, photos, television, radio, multimedia presentations, videos, brochures, pamphlets etc.).

3. Gather related information and develop daily and weekly situation reports and prepare periodical analytical clipping reports for the management.

4. Prepare weekly/monthly donor briefs targeting WHO internal staff/Ministry of Health/donor partners/other UN agencies.

5. Support in drafting WHO messages, media talking points, OP-EDs and other types of media supporting documents to facilitate dissemination of WHO health messages to the public and other stakeholders.

6. Facilitate in drafting press releases, media backgrounders and position statements and organize all the media events such as press briefings, journalists' trips, interviews, photo exhibits, etc.

7. Assist in providing technical guidance and support for media campaigns and internal media and communications related activities.

8. Provide guidance and support for media campaigns and internal media and communications related activities.

9. Design and facilitate media awareness campaigns to promote WHO efforts.

10. Organizing/outsource the design, editing and publishing of various WHO publications.

11. Update CO PAK's website as per WHO’s guidelines and standards.

12. Perform other relevant tasks as and when required.

Functional knowledge and skills:

  • Very good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and particularly MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Very good organizational and managerial skills with the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously and identify and solve problems.
  • Can deliver in pressure/emergency situations


Languages:

  • Very good knowledge of English and local language.
