Job Description
As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the payroll process, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. You will work closely with the HR and Finance teams, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, benefits, and deductions for their employees. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with exceptional analytic skills, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to their employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing End to End Weekly/Monthly Group Payrolls for 350 Employees in Australia using Sage MicrOpay and Kronos Time and Attendance Systems, including bonuses, overtime payment and allowance.
- Process termination and redundancies in accordance with statutory laws
- Prepare End of Month Group Payroll Journals such as Wages, Leave Provisions, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Accruals
- Reconcile and process monthly payroll tax lodgement and superannuation.
- Prepare payroll end of month reconciliations and reports.
- Assist with HR with regards to new employee documents and maintaining current employee files
- Co-ordinating and processing Worker Compensation Payments
- Prepare yearly WGEA reporting.
- Prepare yearly wages estimates and actual declarations for Workers Compensation Insurance
- Interpret various modern awards and EBA for their affiliated electronic installation company
The Successful Applicant
To be successful for this position, you must have:
- Must have proven MicrOpay experience
- Ready to start within a week or less
- Proven experience within a payroll position
- Experience using time and attendance systems, use of Kronos is highly regarded
- Ability to work independently or within a team
- A team player attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
