The main goal of the Industrial Methods Engineer is to define and implement maintenance strategies based on the criticality of the equipment so that the assets meet compliance requirements (EHS/QA) on the one hand and availability for the other.

The Industrial Methods Engineer analyzes the performance of assets in terms of safety, reliability, availability and maintenance costs. Working closely with the execution team and engineers from several disciplines, he maintains and optimizes technical performance in terms of reliability, safety, quality and environmental integrity of assets. The Industrial Methods engineer develops, implements and manages preventive maintenance, inspections and revises the plans. Moreover, it gives assistance and technical support to ensure cost-effective solutions.

The Industrial Methods Engineer also works with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement systemic solutions to technical and operational problems.

Some of your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of the maintenance strategy for GSK installations
  • Involved in CAPEX projects from project definition
  • Responsible for facilitating the reliability process to ensure we identify, prioritize and mitigate reliability threats in the plant
  • Responsible for updating preventive maintenance, inspections and calibration programs. He regularly reviews and controls the maintenance and inspection plans, based on the criticality analysis and criticality classification of the assets, and the operational requirements (availability, EHS, TCO and reliability)
  • Regularly in title to review the content of maintenance/service contracts with OEM and service providers
  • Periodically check the performance of the assets, the analysis of performance losses, the effectiveness of maintenance strategies, based on expertise and reliability characteristics, as well as the modes and risks of failure
  • Evaluate the bad-actors in terms of security, reliability availability and maintenance cost
  • Facilitate RBI, RCM and FMEA workshops if required
  • Report various KPIs within and outside the site to monitor and manage safety, reliability, availability and maintenance costs
  • Assess the lack of spare parts management and determine the critical parts management plan
  • Provide information for the part of the OPEX budget related to maintenance, in cooperation with the maintenance manager.
  • Provide information to configure the SAP maintenance management system (such as Asset breakdown structure, maintenance plan, task list, Bill Of Material, …)
  • Ensure consistent use of root cause analysis tools on the assessment of all high risk reliability incidents
  • Responsible for all aspects of technical change management (MoC: initiation, evaluation communication, validation, planning, implementation and updating of preventive maintenance plans, manuals and documentation, inventory of spare parts and training)
  • Provide Life Cycle Cost analysis for equipment when required

About you

  • Master in Engineering or bachelor degree in electromechanics with experience; training in reliability engineering and/or maintenance management
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in reliability engineering in the pharmaceutical or Oil & Gas industry
  • Very good technical knowledge (mechanics, electricity-instrumentation and process automation)
  • Qualified in maintenance methods such as RNI, RCM, FMEA, CBM and related tools.
  • Qualified in root cause research techniques such as RCA, Kepner & Tregoe©
  • Experience in facilitation, planning and organization of multidisciplinary workshops for RCA, RBI, RCM and FMEA
  • Good knowledge of database management and processing
  • Experience with CMMS, preferably SAP
  • Knowledge of management of maintenance contracts and spare parts
  • Knowledge of “condition based performance monitoring systems”
  • VCA VOL certification
  • Good communication in English, spoken and written
  • Results oriented and proactive
  • Ability to prioritize and to work under pressure, solve challenges, provide support and make decisions
  • Familiar with 6 sigma methodology (orange belt)
