1.1.General
The GM shall have responsibility for providing strategic leadership and vision to the company working along with the Shareholders and the senior management team to establish, implement and over-see the long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
The GM shall have responsibility for creating value for the Company’s shareholders over the long term (5 years and beyond) while ensuring that the Company’s critical short term performance goals are met.
1.1.Specific Responsibilities
The GM shall lead the company to sustainable long term commercial success and shall be accountable for the following:
- Creation & Management :
- Manage creation and evolution of the company as a profitable and sustainable company by but not limited to:
- designing a suitable business model and an organization structure in line with the business needs,
- recruit competent and experienced personnel to man key functions keeping in view targeted geographic and end-use segments,
- Developing a 5 Year Business Plan to achieve the goals set by the shareholders of the company.
- Negotiating Supply Agreements with mineral producers based on the selected Business Model,
- Establishing partnerships with logistics solution providers,
- Formalizing Off-Take agreements with end-users and sales channel partners,
- Setting up a Market intelligence system for regular interaction with Government agencies for facilitating decision on exploration and capacity planning for key minerals in Oman.
- Pursuing with banks and credit agencies to secure Trade Finance and any other funding requirements of the company.
- Validating of statutory requirements for export of minerals, and
- Ensuring compliance with WTO and GATT or any other international trade requirements.
- Organization Culture & Talend Management
- The company's nature of business would require encouraging and promoting entrepreneurial culture with high ethical standards. This may require:
- Leading key initiatives that promote and enhance desired organizational values, including integrity, business skills, nurturing of local talent and motivation of key employees.
- Ensuring that the key Organization values are understood and practiced at all levels, and
- Achieving shared commitment throughout the Company to these values in achieving company’s goals,
- Developing a management review process to provide assurance to the shareholders that effective succession plans are in place.
- Ensuring that senior management have clear roles aligned with the Company’s strategic vision and that senior management has the requisite skills to anticipate and address any requirements necessary to deliver Key Performance Parameters,
- Establishing policies, systems, and compensation structures based on performance to attract, reward and retain highly capable people.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Company's highly competitive and commercial business environment would require continuous assessment of all business and regulatory risks, development of mitigation measures, implementation, and control. This, among other actions, would require:
- Ensuring that appropriate budgeting, internal control, reporting, and disclosure systems are established and maintained to provide accurate and complete financial reporting for management purposes and to ensure that reporting to the Shareholders and regulators is of the highest quality and integrity; and
- Ensure that effective systems are in place to identify and manage business risks.
- Monitor changes in WTO, GATT and Anti-Competition Laws and ensure compliance,
- Stake-holder Engagement
- Develop a Stakeholder Engagement Plan for implementation.
- Create a platform for Industry Level interaction with Government Bodies for escalating relevant international marketing and trade issues and formalizing required resolution.
- Other Responsibilities: Assume such other appropriate responsibilities as are assigned by the shareholders from time to time.
2. Information Flow to the Shareholders
The GM will arrange for the delivery of information and access to senior management on a timely basis to keep the shareholders fully apprised of all matters that they are required to be aware of to help them to take the correct decision.
