JOB VACANCY: Laborer
Médecins Sans Frontières started working in the Philippines in 1984 but has a permanent presence since the Typhoon Haiyan response in 2013. The Tondo Project started in 2021 and aims to search, treat, and prevent TB. It is carried out in partnership with the Manila City Health Department and in support of the National TB Program.
There are 4 components of the project: (1) Contact Investigation and TB Preventive Treatment, (2) Active Case Finding (ACF), (3) Operational Research and (4) Health Promotion and Community Mobilization.
Main purpose of the position
MSF Laborer’s main objectives are carrying out basic technical and logistics work that does not require any special qualifications according to MSFprocedures and following the line manager's instructions in order to contribute to the construction, smooth functioning, cleanliness and repairs within MSF premises.
Main responsibilities
Assist on the set-up of activity area in the community based on the approved planning and location shared by Logistics Manager.
- Loading and unloading of materials and equipment used for set-up.
- Installation of tents, tables and chairs based on the planning given by line manager.
- Assist in the installation of cable wires and extension cables
- Making minor repairs of tent, electric fans, cable wire and other equipment used for set-up.
- Assist in ensuring the cleanliness of the activity area in the community.
- Ensuring that all items and equipment are kept as per line managers advice.
- Informing line manager of any incident may occur in the course of his/her work.

- Type of contract: Fixed-Term Contract (6 months), that can become permanent
- Part-time, 25 hours a week, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) plus 2 Saturdays a month
