Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
- N3: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum)
- Trade: Fitter MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate: Basic Management Program (Essential/Minimum)
- N4: Technical (Recommended/Desirable)
EXPERIENCE:
3 years Applicable technical and maintenance experience within a heavy industry/production/mining environment. (Essential/Minimum) Operational
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- Pub Driv Lic:Code C (Essential/Minimum)
- Competence: Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
- Competence: On the Job MQA Modules Asses (Essential/Minimum)
- Competence: MS Office Relevant Package (Essential/Minimum)
Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Support Services
- Assist in compiling content of job cards
- Assist foreman in day-to-day maintenance operations
- Ensure delivery of service in alignment with agreed Company and external Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards
Best Practice and Knowledge Management
- Remain abreast of new innovations in equipment and methods, evaluate and aligned with process needs
- Conduct applicable on-the-job training to coach and transfer knowledge to artisans.
Compliance, Governance and Assurance
- Adhere to Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) programmes at all times
- All incidents and accidents are reported immediately to foreman according to set procedures
- All work/maintenance work is done according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), regulations and standards
- All necessary SHEC precautions are taken when working on production equipment
- Tools and equipment are inspected daily prior to being used according to SHEC practices and statutory requirements
- Work area is cleaned and environment restored to its original state after completion of a job
Continuous Improvement
- Stay abreast of latest and new Technology in field of competence
- Develop and implement technology through analyses of current processes procedures and techniques and implement through Project process
- Thorough knowledge of the theories, standard practices, materials and processes of the craft
- Expert working knowledge of the assembly, installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of applicable equipment and systems
Equipment Operations and Control
- Perform high level fault finding, generate alternatives and suggest economically viable alternatives
- Advise fellow artisans regarding the correct planning of tasks to expedite work more efficiently
- Conduct condition monitoring, testing, fault finding, problem solving and laser alignment
- Adhere to scheduled maintenance inspections on equipment.
Routine Work Management
- Ensure the execution of maintenance plans
- Balance workload between routine and scheduled maintenance and breakdown recovery
- Assist with Project planning in area of responsibility & expertise
Safe and Healthy Work Environment
- Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
- Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations and rectify/report to superior
- Comply with SHEC and technical requirements
- Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
Skills Management
- Instruct new artisans on relevant equipment
- Quality assure work throughout the section and address deviations through training and instruction
- Report all skills deficiencies as well as required/provided training to the foreman.
Technical Support
- Aid in simulator at training centre (where applicable)
- Aid in competency declaration of operators and artisan aides (where applicable)
- Introduce new innovations, evaluate and align with process needs
- Test new and reconditioned equipment
