Job Purpose:
This role will be responsible for the successful B-BBEE verification and achievement of the desired B-BBEE levels by ensuring relevant supporting documentation and information is presented to the Verification Agency during audit time. This is supported by continuous data integrity and information management from various sources.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Resolving the above will assist the B-BBEE Specialist to be strategic and effectively focus on the following:
- Drafting of Annual B-BBEE budgets and strategies per entity.
- Implementation and coordination of B-BBEE initiatives.
- Provide leadership and direction on B-BBEE, ensuring that there is a clear focus and co-ordination of activities in order to reach Caterpillar’s BBBEE objectives.
- Monthly monitoring and evaluation of B-BBEE scores which is vital to proactively manage the scorecards for the 5 entities.
- Provide support to HR in implementing EE & Skills aligned to B-BBEE.
- Produce reports, assessments, and information as and when required to Senior Management of the 5 entities.
- Assist Senior management in interpreting and using information provided.
- Research, promote and constantly keep abreast of leading B-BBEE best practices and new developments in various Forums.
- EEIP Management, liaison with Beneficiaries on B-BBEE Compliance and Transformation Plans.
- Stakeholder management, especially DTIC, DoL, DSBD, ABP, Amcham.
Departmental Requirements
- Implementation of initiatives per B-BBEE element, per entity.
- Prepare internal assessments per B-BBEE element, per entity monthly and Annual audits. (split into quarters).
- Collate the supporting documentation for verification.
- Liaison with the Verification Agency on annual B-BBEE audits.
- Stakeholder Management both internally and externally.
Ownership
EEIP Management
- Liaison with beneficiaries on B-BBEE Compliance & Transformation Planning.
- DTIC job creation & B-BBEE data requests.
- B-BBEE Certificates collation & verification with suppliers.
Management Control
- Guide and Contribute towards B-BBEE targets through EE & Skills Committee.
- Monthly reporting of EE movements - management reports.
- Compile supporting documents for EE.
Skills Development
- Create Purchase Requests at Training companies.
- Schedule & track Training data.
- Document & report Training certificates.
- Maintain & Update B-BBEE document repository which includes track Training data and spend, monthly EMP201 reporting.
Preferential Procurement, Enterprise, and Supplier Development
- TMPS calculation
- Maintain & Update Preferential Procurement database which includes validation of B-BBEE certificates &
- Contact vendors for updated certificate if needed.
- Managing/Collection required BBBEE docs in repository.
- Monthly spend update.
- Assist in ESD meetings with Vendors and Meeting Minutes.
- Monthly KPI update & communication of B-BBEE scores.
Socio-Economic Development
- Completion of required documentation for internal approvals for all departments.
- Assist in SED meetings with stakeholders and Meeting Minutes.
- Collection of documents and Maintain & Update B-BBEE document repository.
Job Requirements:
- A completed qualification/ certification in Supply Chain Management or Similar.
- 5 years prior experience in a similar role.
- Exposure to audits. BEE Verification Agency Experience will be advantageous.
- Understanding of BEE Codes and Points system is a must have.
- Must be available Immediately.
