Photosynthetic is a young tech start-up founded in 2019, revolutionizing the microfabrication industry through our patented 3D printing technology. We are currently situated in Amsterdam and Eindhoven. Our interdisciplinary approach has allowed us to break boundaries in manufacturing, enabling rapid prototyping and development of microstructures at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional methods. For our location in Eindhoven, we are seeking an experienced Materials Scientist with a strong background in resin development for photopolymers to join our innovative team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the materials R&D in a young, ambitious and rapidly growing team
- Design and synthesize novel photopolymer formulations
- Help us improving the reaction kinetic models to achieve better printing accuracy
- Design experiments and analyze data to characterize thermal, mechanical, chemical, and optical properties of the printing materials
- Characterize polymers and materials, including thermal, mechanical, chemical, and optical properties
- Utilize microscopy and profilometry techniques to analyze the material surfaces
- Collaborate with other team members to develop new applications for our technology
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including patent applications
- Provide technical guidance to other team members
Qualifications
- Master (+ 3y experience) or PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry with a focus on resin development
- Experience with photopolymerization processes, photopolymers, and photoreaction kinetics
- Familiarity with 3D printing, microfabrication, or photolithography techniques is an asset
- Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis and automation is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
