We are currently seeking an experienced or up and coming Production Manager to join our team in St. Arnaud. Reporting to the Site Manager, the key focus of this role is to manage and control site operations to ensure the health and safety of our employees.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensure adherences to all OHSE legislative and company policies.
  • Monitors operation of plant, equipment and systems (OEE% Overall Equipment Efficiency & TPH) accurately recording unplanned and planned downtime, tonnes of mash and finished feed produced.
  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance and site production team personnel, both individually and as a group to ensure good two-way communication concerning operation issues.
  • Participate in ensuring an accurate inventory stocktake is performed and discrepancies followed up.
  • Plant & Equipment is maintained to a safe operational standard that optimises production throughout.
  • Takes active responsibility and authority for all site operations in the absence of the site manager.
  • Delegate duties to competent staff during planned work and shutdowns (in accordance with skills and training).
  • Ensure confined space, JSA, safety permits and procedures are followed and completed.
  • Prepares reports, analyses data, promotes problem solving and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and efficiencies. Captures gained efficiencies in win/win sheets.
  • Participate in all site audits including internal/external HSE, HACCP and Feed Safe audits. Complete and close out actions as required through site manager.

The key skills required for this role include

  • Supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and coach a team
  • 5+years Industry Experience (History of working in planning manufacturing environment)
  • A thorough understanding of the D365 and Microsoft Office systems.
  • Strong verbal, negotiation and written communication skills
  • Ability to create & oversee execution of manufacturing and delivery schedules
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management
  • High attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation
