Job Description
- Supplier selection and annual contract negotiation.
- Ensure components/materials are supplied to satisfy manufacturing.
- Supplier development.
- Identify potential ways to reduce costs.
- Cross functional support to other departments e.g Design, Marketing, Finance, Planning, Distribution and Engineering.
- Supplier visits and assessments, UK and overseas.
- Reduce material lead times.
- Effective application and administration of processes to achieve the above duties.
- Deliver Value added/value engineering savings.
- Deliver savings in line with annual targets.
- Maintain commodity price tracker.
- Support Purchasing Director in specific projects as required.

- Strong negotiation skills are key for this role.
- Negotiating/re writing contracts.
- Professional approach.
- CIPS qualified an advantage.
- Ability to build strong rapport and relationships with supplier base.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG/Industrial).
