Job Opportunity: Head Chef - International Cuisine
Position: Head Chef
Location: Gili Trawangan
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at our beach club located on the stunning island of Gili Trawangan. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of 14 kitchen staff, including two Executive Chefs. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and expertise in international cuisine.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Develop and create innovative menus that showcase a diverse range of international cuisines.
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
- Coordinate with the Executive Chefs to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and control food costs without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events and themed dining experiences.
- Stay updated with culinary trends and industry developments to introduce new techniques and flavors.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes creativity and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in international cuisine, with the ability to create diverse menus.
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively coordinate a team of kitchen staff.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Creativity and willingness to experiment with new flavors and ingredients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position requires relocation to Gili Trawangan, as the beach club is situated on the island. Candidates must be willing to make this commitment.
